Tracey Wade registered social worker

Welcome

I’m so glad you’re here. I know it’s not always easy to reach out. I also know how life-changing it can be to find the right kind of support, and how discouraging it feels when you don’t. Sadly, many neurodivergent people continue to face confusion and frustration when seeking understanding and effective help. That’s why I’m here: to help change that reality.

My Story

In addition to the roles of counselor, therapist, and coach, I am also a mother to a young adult who is ADHD, and partner to an ADHD spouse. While I’ve never been formally diagnosed, I self-identify as neurodivergent.

Twenty-five years ago, my journey with neurodiversity became deeply personal. I met my partner, who is ADHD, and knew the possibility was high that our daughter would also share this neurotype. I set out to learn everything I could about ADHD. The professional guidance available at the time was scarce. Too often, messages from well-meaning professional helpers and educators were negative and discouraging. Leaving families like mine to navigate a tug-of-war with the educational system, endless advocacy, and many sleepless nights.

Despite these struggles, I knew my daughter was bright, curious, and capable, just like her father. While attention was a challenge, whenever she was interested, she sparkled—her brilliance lighting up the room. I wasn’t giving up, nor was she. In my effort to find the appropriate support, I discovered the world of ADHD life coaching, where children, adults, and families just like mine were finding new ways to thrive. For the first time, I felt heard—and no longer alone.

It has been almost 15 years since my daughter’s formal diagnosis, and during that time, I’ve worked to expand my knowledge of neurodiversity, particularly the neurotype, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, or AD/HD. While my professional training has equipped me with valuable tools, it is my lived experience that has given me a unique depth of insight into the complexities, strengths, and challenges faced by those who are ADHD.

Our Space

I provide a welcoming, supportive space for neurodivergent individuals and their loved ones — a place where counseling and coaching are designed specifically for them. Here, you are seen, validated, and your many strengths and abilities are recognized. While cushioned in compassion and kindness, this safe space allows you to be your authentic self. And release the mask that so many have felt pressured to wear to fit into the neurotypical world.

My Foundation

I practice through a neurodiversity-affirming and anti-oppressive lens, grounded in an understanding of the social and structural causes of difficulties and suffering. While I specialize in supporting neurodivergent clients and their loved ones, this perspective informs every aspect of my work with all clients and professionals.

I understand and openly acknowledge that many challenges don’t exist in isolation. Systems like neuro-ableism, ableism, classism, sexism, racism, ageism, colonialism, homophobia, and religious or linguistic discrimination can overlap, creating even greater barriers, especially for those who are neurodivergent. These forces can affect mental and physical well-being, limit access to opportunities, and compromise safety and quality of life. With this awareness at the heart of my work, we can address the full picture together.

Education & Training

I am a registered social worker in the provinces of Ontario and New Brunswick, and a certified ADHD Life Coach. I completed my ADHD life coach training at the ADD Coach Academy. Founded in 1997, it is one of the oldest accredited ADHD coaching schools in the United States and is known worldwide for its excellence in ADHD Life Coaching. It is fully recognized and accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the Professional Association for ADHD Coaches (PAAC). I have since deepened my expertise by learning from some of the most respected and experienced master ADHD coaches in the world.

I hold an MSW from the University of Toronto and a BSW from St. Thomas University in Fredericton, where I studied Structural Anti-Oppressive Social Work. I have postgraduate training and certificates in a variety of subjects and counselling modalities. I continue to pursue professional development each year to expand my skills and stay current in the field of mental health, social work, and ADHD coaching.
